Comparison of density functionals for energy and structural differences between the high - [ 5 T 2 g : ( t 2 g )

چکیده
The ability of different density functionals to describe the structural and energy differences between the high[5T2g:(t2g)4(eg)2] and low[1A1g:(t2g)6(eg)0] spin states of small octahedral ferrous compounds is studied. This work is an extension of our previous study of the hexaquoferrous cation, [Fe(H2O)6]2+, [J. Chem. Phys. 120, 9473 (2004)] to include a second compound—namely, the hexaminoferrous cation, [Fe(NH3)6]2+—and several additional functionals. In particular, the present study includes the highly parametrized generalized gradient approximations (GGAs) known as HCTH and the meta-GGA VSXC [which together we refer to as highly parametrized density functionals (HPDFs)], now readily available in the GAUSSIAN03 program, as well as the hybrid functional PBE0. Since there are very few experimental results for these molecules with which to compare, comparison is made with best estimates obtained from second-order perturbation theory-corrected complete active space self-consistent field (CASPT2) calculations, with spectroscopy oriented configuration interaction (SORCI) calculations, and with ligand field theory [...] FOUQUEAU, Antony, et al. Comparison of Bone Mineral Density Measured by Dual X-ray, Axial Dual-energy Photon X-ray Absorptiometry and Laser Absorptiometry of Calcaneus
The objective of this study was to validate the use of bone mineral measurements of the calcaneus bone by dual X-ray and laser (DXL) in a cross-sectional study carried out in an osteoporosis clinic. Measurements of bone mineral density (BMD) at proximal femur and spine were obtained by dual-energy photon X-ray absorptiometry (DEXA). Osteoporosis was defined by a DEXA T-score <-2.5 at the femora...
متن کاملSerum ferritin levels and bone mineral density in the elderly
Background: Iron overload influences negatively on bone mineral density (BMD) but the results of studies regarding serum ferritin (SF) and BMD are conflicting. This study aimed to determine the association of SF and BMD in the elderly. Methods: All participants of the Amirkola cohort selected between 2011-2012, aged > 60 years were classified as high or normal (<200ng/ml) SF. BMD at femoral nec...
متن کاملA COMPARISON BETWEEN THERMAL AND X RADIOGRAPHY FOR STUDYING THE INTERNAL STRUCTURE OF BIOLOGICAL
ABSTRACT Background: With respect to the difference in the interaction of thermal neutron and X rays with matter, using two radiography systems of thermal neutron and X rays will yield highly valuable information for studying the inner structure of biologic samples. Methods: The high sensitivity of thermal neutron to hydrogen, in particular, has led to recognizing this system as a useful tool ...
متن کاملبررسی تراکم معدنی استخوان در خانمهای یائسه مبتلاء به دیابت قندی نوع 2
Background and Aim: Association between type 2 Diabetes mellitus and osteoporosis has been an attractive subject for many researchers, because both of them are very frequent and occure in the same age group. However there are controversial reports on the effect of the type 2 Diabetes mellitus on bone mineral density. Bone mineral density (BMD) of diabetic patients is reported to be equal, m...
